Recommended University Strategy

Following our conversation with João and Ana, and after reviewing João's academic profile, we have developed a university strategy that reflects both his ambitions and the type of university experience he is looking for.

The objective is to build a balanced application portfolio, combining highly competitive universities with institutions where João's academic profile aligns strongly with the admissions requirements.

Programme focus

Based on our discussions with João, the primary focus of his applications will be undergraduate programmes in Economics, with related options in Economics & Management and Business Economics where appropriate. The exact programme selection will be finalised as we develop the application strategy for each university.

We have prioritised universities that offer:

Strong Economics-focused academic pathwaysInternational and English-taught environmentsA balance between academic challenge and student experienceOpportunities to develop outside the classroomDifferent levels of selectivity to maximise João's options

Note on the Netherlands — Studielink

Applications to Dutch universities are submitted through Studielink, the national application platform. As Studielink allows a maximum of four simultaneous bachelor applications, we will carefully select the four Dutch universities that provide João with the strongest overall strategy. The current Dutch shortlist represents our recommended starting point and can be adjusted throughout the process if required.

Reach Universities

Highly competitive universities where João's profile gives him the opportunity to be considered, but where admission requires a carefully prepared and highly personalised application.

Target submission

15 Sep 2026

Target to have all application components ready and submitted by 15 September 2026 where possible. For universities with later deadlines — Dutch targets (15 October) and Stockholm (15 November) — our focus is to have all components complete and apply on the easiest available deadline.
